About this wine

Côte Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France. Sustainable. 100% Pinot Noir. From 44-year-old vines planted on clay-limestone and marl soils, covered with gravel and limestone pebbles. The grapes are 100% destemmed prior to fermentation, followed by 18 months aging in oak barrels (30% new oak). Expressive nose of menthol, earth, and dark berries. Hallmark nuances of Mercurey lead into rich and ripe medium weight flavors that are shaped by firm tannins. The powerful, muscular, and rustic finish displays fine length and very good depth that should only improve with time.
